PYSANKY.
REBORN

About the project
The All-Ukrainian Pysanka Festival in Kyiv dates back to 2016... This extraordinary art performance aimed to support and popularise Ukrainian folk traditions, develop folk art, and study the culture and history of the Ukrainian people.
According to the beliefs of our distant ancestors, Pysanka (Easter Egg) had a magical good power — it brought happiness, prosperity, and well-being, and protected its owner from evil.
We sincerely believe that these Pysanky (Easter Eggs), which survived the war, will become a real talisman of our great country! Each symbolism depicted will fulfill its important purpose!

HISTORY
2016
It was the year of the first All-Ukrainian Pysanka Festival in Ukraine. 374 artists from all over the country painted one-metre-long canvases in the shape of eggs, which were presented on St Sophia's Square in Kyiv, the capital of our native country.
2017
There are 585 Pysanky (Easter Eggs) in St Sophia's Square.
2018
The Easter Bunnies are added to the Pysanky (Easter Eggs).
2019-2021
A new location for Pysanky is Dobropark, a unique arboretum in Ukraine, where 5,000,000 tulips bloomed.
2022
A year of a brutal war... Unfortunately, the enemy mercilessly attacked Dobropark, where most of the Pysanky were kept at that time...
Out of more than 800 art objects, only 120 were saved…
